The Maná Church is guided by the following beliefs:
– THE SCRIPTURES: The Bible is the Word inspired by God, written by men of God, guided by the Holy Spirit. We accept the inerrancy of the Scriptures as our code of conduct and doctrine. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)
– THE DIVINITY: There is one God, but He manifests Himself in Three Persons: The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit, who form the Trinity. God the Father is the Almighty, He who sent the Word and is the Great Architect. (John 14:28; John 16:28; John 1:14) The Son is the Word made flesh and has existed from the beginning with the Father. (John 1:14; John 1:18; John 1:1) The Holy Spirit proceeds from both the Father and the Son, gives substance to the Word and is eternal. (John 15:26)
– MAN, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION: Man was created in the image and likeness of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin entered the world. (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Romans 3:10) Jesus Christ, the Son of God, appeared to destroy the works of the devil; He gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore humanity’s relationship with God. (Romans 5:12; Colossians 1:13–14; Ephesians 2:13–14; Ephesians 2:16–18; 1 John 3:8)
– ETERNAL LIFE: Jesus Christ is the only way that leads humanity to God. Anyone who believes that Jesus paid the price for our sins and receives him as their Lord and Saviour will be saved and have eternal life with God. The first step for a person to obtain Eternal Life with God is through REPENTANCE, resulting in a New Birth, not of the flesh, but of the spirit, the Inner Man. It is this experience that produces Eternal Life with God. (John 3:3-5; 2 Corinthians 7:10; 1 John 5:12-13)
– SALVATION: We believe that salvation can only be obtained here on earth, and not after death. It cannot be obtained through our own acts of charity or any other human works, nor by attending a church. Salvation is obtained by God’s grace through faith and is available to us through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, His resurrection, and after He has made atonement for our sins in the Heavenly Sanctuary before God the Father. To receive salvation, a person must believe in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and publicly confess Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:8-10; Hebrews 9:23-24)
– DIVINE HEALING: It is God’s will to heal people today and always, from all kinds of illnesses, whether they are saved or not. We believe that, through faith in God’s Promises, it is possible to receive healing from physical and psychological ailments and to remain in good health. We believe that no one is capable of imposing on another person a measure of faith that that person does not already possess, and for this reason, we would never prevent anyone from consulting a qualified doctor or going to a hospital, nor would we prevent anyone from taking any prescribed medication. Divine healing is manifested through the word of faith, the laying on of hands, or through the Gifts of the Holy Spirit; it was made available through the sacrifice of Jesus and is the right of every Christian today. (James 5:15-16; Mark 16:18; Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24; Psalm 103:3; Psalm 107:20)
– WATER BAPTISM: It is a commandment of Jesus for all believers, carried out by the immersion of the whole body in water. We do not believe in infant baptism because baptism is an act of faith, which each person must perform with personal conviction and of their own free will, which is not possible for an infant. It is an outward act that identifies the believer with Christ in His death and resurrection. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:36–39)
– MATERIAL PROSPERITY: On Calvary, Jesus took our place in everything. He made himself poor so that, in return, we might prosper. We believe in and practise the Laws of Prosperity, honouring God with our Tithes and Offerings. (Malachi 3:1-12; 2 Corinthians 8:9; Proverbs 3:9-10; Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:6-11)
– DELIVERANCE FROM DEMONS: We believe in and practise the casting out of demons in the Name of Jesus Christ. (Mark 16:17; Philippians 2:10-11; Luke 10:19; James 4:7)
– BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT AND SPEAKING IN OTHER TONGUES: We believe that every sincere Christian is capable of being empowered by the Power from on high, which is received through the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a Promise from the Father, fulfilled through Jesus, for every believer. This experience can only occur after salvation. (Matthew 3:11; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38-39; Acts 10:44-47; Acts 19:1-7; Acts 2:4)
– THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND HIS GIFTS: The Holy Spirit was sent to earth on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1) and will remain with us until the rapture of the Church. He equips and empowers us with His Gifts so that we may do God’s Work. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are the Gifts of Power: Special Faith, Miracles and Healing; the Gifts of Inspiration: Speaking in Tongues, Prophecy and Interpretation of Tongues; the Gifts of Revelation: Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge and Discernment of Spirits. The Gifts come from the Holy Spirit, and it is He who grants each person the manifestation to be used according to His Will. (John 14:16–17 and 26; John 15:26; John 16:7–14; Acts 2:4; Acts 19:11–12; Acts 10:38; 1 Corinthians 12:1 and 4–11)
– THE UNIVERSAL CHURCH OF CHRIST: We believe that the Universal Church of Christ is the congregation of all people on earth, from every generation, who, regardless of their colour, culture, race or nationality, have surrendered themselves to Jesus Christ, accepting Him as their Lord and Saviour, and who live in accordance with the Bible. Every church, regardless of its denomination, which preaches that Jesus Christ is the Only Way to God, and lives in accordance with the Bible, is a Church of God. The Bible does not speak of just one church within the Kingdom of God, but mentions several churches. (Romans 1:7; Romans 16:5–16; 1 Corinthians 1:2; Ephesians 1:1; Galatians 1:2)
– THE RESURRECTION OF THE RIGHTEOUS AND THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH:
At the sound of God’s trumpet, those who have died in Christ throughout the ages will be raised to life, and then those who are still alive will be transformed from a mortal body into a glorious, eternal body, and together they will be caught up to meet Jesus Christ in the air and will live forever with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:13–17; Matthew 24:29–31)
– THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST: Just as Jesus ascended into heaven, He will return a second time with His saints, not as the Lamb of God who took upon Himself the sins of the world, but as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords to judge and reign with His saints. The devil will be bound for a thousand years and then released to be finally judged and condemned along with all those who serve him. (Acts 1:11; John 14:1-3; Revelation 19:11-16)
– FINAL JUDGEMENT AND ETERNAL REWARD: Those who have died in sin without accepting Jesus will be judged for their evil deeds and condemned to the lake of fire and brimstone together with the devil and his demons, the Antichrist and the false prophets. There will be no further opportunity to return to hear the Gospel and repent.
This punishment will be eternal, but on the other hand, the reward for the righteous will be to live in God’s presence in a state of peace and happiness. (Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21:8; Revelation 21:1–4; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Matthew 25:31–46)
