1. INTRODUCTION / RECAP OF THE PREVIOUS LESSON
Are you facing problems and can not see a solution, nor do you know what else to do?
The solution is to turn to God, come to God’s house, and not be ashamed of Jesus. Perhaps you pray to God or the saints, but it seems that you get no answer or results.
In this lesson, you will learn to recognize the true enemy and protect yourself and others from evil workers, mercenaries, and scandal-mongers.
The truth is only in Jesus and in the Bible. It is by their results that you can tell who speaks the truth about God – Matthew 7:15-23
The devil and demons exist. The devil’s goal is to steal, kill, and destroy—John 10:10
The devil uses people to achieve his goal—Matthew 13:24-30
In the harvest (Church), true priests sow wheat = truth.
Sometimes, malicious people end up sowing weeds = lies.
In the harvest, there is a lot of wheat, but the devil manages to enter the hearts of some, as happened with Judas, and turn them into weeds – Matthew 13:36-43
2. OBJECTIVE OF THIS LESSON
To expose the true enemy. And to show the true path = Jesus.
God’s worst enemy is not the devil, for he must bow to the name of Jesus. God’s worst enemy is the believer who rebels or causes scandal.
These people drag many people to hell with hypocrisy, lies, schemes, etc.
3. LET US DENOUNCE THE ENEMIES OF GOD
We who love God and the gospel must spread the good news, evangelize, and protect the good name of Jesus.
We need to protect new converts from evil workers, mercenaries, and scandal-mongers.
a) EVIL WORKERS
This is someone who serves God in a church as a member of the leadership. They started out well, but at some point began to do what is evil in the eyes of God. They may become murmurers, disobedient, and even rebellious, abandoning the church and the people. They are deserters.
1 Corinthians 5:11
b) MERCENARIES
These are people who serve God conditionally, in exchange for perks and/or demands.
John 10:12-13
c) THOSE WHO CAUSE SCANDALS
1 Corinthians 5:1,2,7
Luke 17:1-2
A scandal bears the mark of the devil. It is purpose is to turn people away from Jesus and the Church through immoral situations.
The leadership can not allow such people to remain in the Church, for they will cause serious believers to turn away.
Those who cause scandals will be removed from the Kingdom of God – Matthew 13:41-42
4. WHAT SHOULD YOUR ATTITUDE BE?
1st – Turn to God – Matthew 6:33
2nd – Walk with God – Psalm 91:1
3rd – Do not follow rebels;
4th – Do not be deceived by wolves;
